Changed one on a vectra 2months ago. Check towards the rear (before the rear tyre) of the car on the driver's side. Just close to where the jack goes to lift up the car. You will have to depress the clips on either sides of the filter with a screwdriver or something else you can get away with. The clips to depress are 180degrees from each other.
If you don't want to lose too much fuel from the hose, unclip old filter on one side and attach new filter, then unclip from the other side and clip the new one in as well. Be ready to get fuel spill from the filter itself though. HTH
You sure we are talking DTI here? Mine is engine compartment next to the radiator header tank.
2.2dti's aren't under the car, that is on petrol models. On dtis it's the black think to left of the header tank with 2 pipes and a wiring connector for the fuel heater

Still trying to get payment in kind i see!!! Any luck so far?
The fuel filter is at the back of the engine on the bulkhead next to the radiator expansion tank.
Make sure the engine has been shut down for a bit to let the pressure subside.
There is a bolt on top you undo and the filter canopy lifts off. I didnt undo any pipes when i did mine.
Change filter and refil the chamber with fuel, and then replace the canapy.
It may start first time but will soon conk out, need to try and keep the revs up the second it starts.
If it shuts down , then it takes a while to restart. Always makes me nervous at this point.
But it eventually does.
Good luck.
Cheers lads thanks as for payment that will be next week but will be notes and not what u think pmsl.
Fitted the intercooleer hose today they took the car to 2 garages looked under bonnet didn't have a clue would have to plug it into a comp I look under and find what's wrong lol

Also a good idea to drain the filter housing before you put the new filter in & fill it with fuel, just in case there has been any water ingress settling at the botom of the canister. Did mine last week & there is just enough room to hold an old cup or similar to catch the dregs.
Is there a drain hole or summit on it lolOriginally Posted by mick.n
