Default This is why i dont buy budget tyres

Tyre has 5mm of tread left as did the other side that's done the same at 6 months old. was fitted on the front of a c class diesel and was a 225 45 wr17 so a tyre size lots of us maybe using. Now that's why I only fit premium Tyres as I see so many budget Tyres having crap like this happen to them. Customer lost all faith in budget Tyres and took off both the rears aswell with 6mm remaining 3 months old and had 4 continental sport contact 3 fitted at almost £600 in total as rears were a larger size.

Nothing happened other than poor manufacture. It was a runway tyre. Both fronts will be sent away monday for inspection back to manufacturer. They were fitted by a local tyre company who recommended them as good as any other tyre on the Market apparently. Customer was scared to use the car with his grand children in it and he does m way to and from work every day aswell

    Ex-tyre fitter here.
I used to get Volvo T5's come in when I worked at Volvo with owners who cheaped out on tyres. Ripped, cracked, blown walls, you name it. Seriously, if you buy cheap tyres you will definitely get cheap tyres.
Bite the bullet and buy premium.

my old vectra B had runways on the front when I bought it , brand new ones .
didn't think much of it til they tried to kill me one wet morning on a roundabout with serious understeer & lots of ABS .
they were removed very soon after .

I had runway on my passat 18" alloys. The alloys was unique. One of a kind. 3 of them broke as i was driving in heavy rain. Coming to roundabout at end of motorway. Water on road made me float on top and i depressed the brake slightly and i couldnt stop at all! 2 months old tyres and i couldnt stop!!! I had no control. Cars in front was in the way so i had to steer and finally i was avoiding them but still couldnt stop! Hit kerb and broke the alloys! £1300 for them alloys! Never again buying budget tyres!!!

I bet there have been thousands of budget tyres that do not have any faults and more people will buy budget tyres as motoring costs increase. We have seen on here the favoured Neutons with faults and I am sure people have had faults on Micehelin, Pirelli, Dunlop, etc.

Let us just be thank you that no one was hurt.

i have bought budgets tyres for the last 15 years for various cars, and never had a single issue, suppose it depends on the make, how they are used and how much they are abused, i'm no michael schumacher thats for sure, and they all brake hard enough when i need them to.
its not just budgets either, i here good and bad about all, even branded ones
