Normally lose two years NCB for a claim, unless you have protected bous.

If you claim and you do have protected no claims 'Discount' your insurance will still go up as the premium will be higher but you will still get the same discount off the premium (Although a higher premium)

How can a 58 plate Polo be classed as new?

    4 yrs old, IIRC.

Anyway, depending on the amount of the damage, try getting them to get a "for cash" quote, as well as an insurance quote. i.e. are the dents small enough for a dent doctor to work his magic, and someone like chipsaway to tidy up the scuff marks?

Might well work out cheaper for you to pay for the repair in cash, rather than loosing your excess.

True but it's new compared to my 05 vectra and 93 nova lol

Yeah I prob would be better for a cash fix but I don't think it will be cheap

What's the most I should pay before I think about going thru insurance ?

Prep and paint for the wee polo is £300
But steering is playing up as it hit the wheel also and that's another £325 at a minimum and that's just for the strut could be wishbone or strut top or steering rack
