    Default More problems :-(

Another couple of problems i have, since iv owned the car (150 cdti) on the odd occasion the car jolts as if its totally lost power for about half a second, then it does it 4 or 5 times in the space of a minute then dissapears ?!?!? it feels as if iv let go of the accelerator and someones pulling the car back when it happens. very odd and very frustrating as i have no idea and neither does my local garage, can anyone shed any light on this please

also i have a nasty flat spot at pretty much 2000rpm, its quite a big dead spot as if the car just stops for a fag then gets going again

sorry all my posts are about problems at the moment but big thanx to all the advise iv had so far its helped me %100 and saved me a bob or 2 :-)

I dont have a diesel, so just what I have picked up on here. Exhaust Gas Recirculation valve gets gunked up, you can split it open and clean it with carb cleaner and a toothbrush. There will be numerous posts about it.

MAF can also be cleaned by carefully squirting carb cleaner onto it. It will be on the side leading from the airfilter and has a plug on it, again plenty of posts on here.

The diesel guys will give you more advise.

Usually culprit is the 3rd injector wiring, I am sure paulvectrac will have a look at it for you.

mine was egr sticking that was causing the hesitation , and the flat spot was my boost pressure sensor - a good clean sorted it out . i do mine every 4 -6 months , very easy to do but dont scrub the boost sensor just spray or soak in carb cleaner . i cleaned the egr valve with a toothbrush and carbcleaner . make sure you split the egr valve and give it a good going over , when you split it you will see the pin coming out the solenoid that should be free and moving and you will see the spring in the egr wich sticks .
