    Default Which tyre sizes

    At the mo I have 215 50 17 would be be wise to put 225 45 17 and what's the difference will the profile be lower

    it says in the owners manual that 225/45/17 are an alternative so i think your pretty safe pal

    225/45/17s are an approved size for the Vec's. I'm using them on mine at the moment (19's are off waiting to be re-furbed or sold), on mine the difference knocks the speedo out by about 2mph at 50mph (50 on the clock is 48 on the satnav) so nothing to worry about imho and if you know it's doing it you can compensate if need be.

    Do get a slightly bigger gap between the top of tyre and the wheel arch. Not worth worrying about.
    If you lower it on Lowering springs, you wont notice.

    I noticed a Vectra SRi the other day and thought it looked jacked up. Looked closer and it had 45 profile 17's on it.

    I've just done exactly that to put some winter tyres on for the winter it's perfectly fine, you're allowed up to a 3% variance in the tyre circumference.
