    Default Cheap torque wrench

    Being sold in... Aldi!

Thought I'd give everyone the heads up as they're often so expensive and fairly essential bits of kit! Clearly not going to be top notch but at £15 it's good value...

Going to pick myself up one later as I've just broken my old one, I'll post back what I think of it.

Aldi stuff is usually German made - so should be ok - The extra length makes them good breaker bars as well for stubborn nuts!

Should never use a Torque Wrench as a breaker bar, you will break it!

    Buy a breaker bar!!

Well, here's the review of my new Aldi torque wrench (thrilling life I lead isn't it?!)

Bought it last night as I'd just finished replacing a wheel bearing and needed to torque the hub nut.

Seems absolutely fine, very nice and solid, everything works with a very reassuring "click". Decent quality plastic case, not the usual cheap plastic which flexes and bends.

Only complaint is it only goes up to 210nm and I needed 250nm for the hub nut! I just let it click and then turned it a little bit more, I'm sure it will be fine!

Definitely a good buy for £15 for anyone who's not using it for the trade...

Your right - it is an old one and I have another I look after but the old one has saved my bacon a few times _ do have a breaker bar - a Sealey one they had on offer at my local motor factors - about £10 if I remember correctly - handy bit of kit
