    Default Pad type PC's, which?

Hi all, I can't get on with laptops, but liked a friend's iPad. Thinking of getting one second hand (money a bit tight at present) to help me decide whether to go for new one.
It would need to be WiFi capable, but other than that I have no real idea what to look for. I'd probably use it for checking email, light "surfing", maybe read the odd ebook and or preview digital photos while out and about.
eBay have 64Gb WiFi mk 1 iPads at present for around the £50 mark, some say 3G, some mention unlocked (home internet Virgin) and sim cards (they need one?). Also seen Samsung Galaxy pads about.
Can any of you point me in the right direction? Minimum Gb to go for, what features worth having etc, what's the crack on 3G and sim cards?

Never heard of GOTAB but I'll Google them. Not sure how I'd cope with 7" screen, still struggling a bit with right eye after op in April. £130 is more than I want to pay for now. Will check it out, thanks.

We looked at 7 inch and it's just a bit too small, 10 inch is just right for us. Any bigger and you may as well be on a laptop.

We got a samsung 16gb dual core for 249 at currys, the quad core was 400 but we only use it for browsing and simple games so dual core is fine.

Oh, and get plants vs zombies, superb.

Google's Nexus 7. job done. Check the reviews, its quad core, super fast, super slick, and TBH nothing out there under £400 will touch it. I have the 16gb one @ £200 new and rarely use my laptop now. If I wish to use it online outside of a Wifi zone I just wifi tether it to my Xperia.
