Default 12v Permanent Live - Behind the Glovebox?

    Hello All
Does anyone have a photo or details of a permanent live that is easily accessible from behind the glovebox?

I want to install a multi socket 12v adapter thingy to run my Sat nav and Mobile phone charger off ( as I hate using the cig lighter socket because of messy cables !!!)

My car has the wiring for a phone kit ( assume it's the loom all wrapped in masking tape?!) Can I take a permanent live off there somehow via Scotchlock?

    Any help appreciated

    Thanks

I'd still run a feed wire back to the ciggy lighter.. you could hide it under the dash trim, all the way back to the gearshift area.. that way you'd get a feed with a decent amperage, rather than tapping into one of the smaller guage signal wires..

I've done what Gsi3.2 says, I've put one socket for the sat nav fed off the back off the front charger socket behind the dash & put another socket under the front drinks holder powered of the rear charger socket for my phone.

SatNav will run happily of the glove compartment light, I've had two Vec's where I used this feed, running a bluetooth receiver and a PDA from a single feed, you also get the added bonus that this supply gets switched off about 20 mins after you lock the car so there is no danger of flattening the battery if you leave your SatNav in the car, but I would not recommend doing that due to the amount that get nicked.

I usually pull the conector off the light, put the wires through the holes in the lugs on the light where the connector slides on, then slide the connector back on, trapping the wires, I have never had a problem with the connection like this and if you need to remove the installation, there is no trace of anything having ever been connected.
