we all got letters on Friday telling us we are being considered for redundancy and the last working day will be the 2nd of November.

does anybody no if being considered for redundancy cound as 30 days notice? and can they wait till friday 2nd and just say dont come back monday?

Yes, the letter acts as a notice of redundancy, and commences from the date of that letter

The consultancy period is most likely 30 days, but is usually waived if the company is likely to cease trading
The employee would be entitled to notice for any period thereafter, and then redundancy from that date onwards

If there is failure to consult (minimum 30 days) then unfair dismissal would apply
However as above if the company has already ceased trading the outcome would be of little benefit

Well go to Wm Bowie they seem to always be taking on (Billy Lives near me and I know their yard well )

we were told today that 20 out of 49 will be paid off and the 20 who are will be told next friday but im 1of only 2guys trained up on that bad boy lol so miby not looking too bad hopefully.
