When retrofitting ncdc you can control it from the buttons on the steering wheel controls. (thats working nice...) what we are trying to solve is getting a CID to work of the stalk controls when retrofitted and without the NCDC fitted (maby also with...)

You cant mix SW Can and Can High then you get in troubles...

My thoughts are that i need to decode the stalk, and the reenable it.. then it might work.. as the one it worked with didnt have the stalk fitted with buttons where mine had.. as when putting a GID in, i can control it via the stalk controls without anything..

My car has the stalk with buttons from factory, as it's the only way to control the GID.

But the CID may be waiting for orders coming from the NCDC rather than from the CIM... Or is the problem only occuring whent he car didn't originally have a GID and control stalk ?

Car with oem GID and stalk = working
Car with retrofit NCDC and CID = controls on steering wheel is OK = stalk controls not working

Car with OEM NCDC and CID = controls on steering wheel is OK = stalk controls not working (maby, dont know)
Car with OEM NCDC and CID, where stereo is removed, changed controls to stalk is working

What we want is retrofitted CID working of the stalk controls..

Maby that clears up what we want to have working...

Is that only for facelift wheels with scrollers ?

The pre-face wheel buttons usually don't include any BC control (the buttons are wired to the ISO connectors only, through the CIM).

NCDD was only available on the half canbus - 6 button arrangement. The full canbus scroll wheels had the CD70.

    As mentioned earlier Ken,

    Is your NCDC2013 definately a vectra-c set-up, not an Omega-B set-up.
I had a good look through TIS today, and it identifies that on the Omega, the stalk etc is not listed,
and all other controls are via the instrument loom (there is no CIM), direct to the head-unit. Not the display.

The only other thing that I can think of, is that your CIM or Display has part of the variance config or other programming slightly wrong.

OK, then the wheel buttons only control the radiio, that in turn displays on the top line.

The bottom line (ECC) is controlled by the climate control buttons. All of this at least on the GID : I've never seen a working CID yet, but it should be similar.

The BC features are only controlled by the stalk. How can they be controlled by the wheel buttons, while there's no specific functions for that ?

In any case, if the stalk is attached and programmed in the CIM, it should then work normally, don't you think ?

I owned a Vec with the half can bus setup. The buttons do not control the Climate control or BC. The stalk will only work alongside the steering wheel controls on a car with an SRI screen. I had the stalk fitted to my Elite and it was a choice between the stalk or steering wheel controls.

You mean the wheel must have the buttons, and I guess the CIM must be the relevant model, for the stalk to work ?

    You mean retrofitted ?

    For the same functions ?

Maybe it's a matter of changing or reprogramming the CIM ?

It's not easy to determine if there are specific models ; actually, the BC stalk isn't specified :

    http://www.opeloem.com/vauxhall/vect...r_air_bag.html

But there are two frequencies (433 and 315 MHz) : are there related to the CAN bus speed ? And would it explain the unability for some of them to communicate with the CID ?

The frequencies is for the remotecontrol. and normal its 433.
