    Engine : Z19DTH

    Year : 2005

    Mileage : 131,000

Question Which UEC for vehicles with Front Fogs

    As the heading suggests really.

    I have a 2005 Vectra-C 1.9 CDTi 150 (Energy Model).

My car left the factory without front fogs fitted.

Now then, as many of you will know, retro-fitting front fogs is not simply plug and play.
The UEC - Engine bay fuse box (or BEC in EPC4) -Is missing some internal electronics or componentry on the lower specification vehicles.
This means that lower spec vehicles need to be fitted with a UEC from a higher specification model of a similar age for this function to work.

    So my question is -
Does anyone know what the part number or two-letter alpha code is for a UEC on a Full CAN, Pre-facelift (UK 54 plate to early UK 55 plate) SRI or similar Vectra. ?
(Higher specification models fitted with front fog-lights in the factory).

I am especially interested in vehicles with the 1.9CDTi, standard head-lamps.

Would anyone like to read their numbers / codes for me, so I know which one I need to order for my car.

    Many thanks in advance,
    Rob.

Standing in front of the car its on the right hand side of the UEC, a couple of inches in from the front corner.

The UEC is the engine bay fuse box between the battery and the wing.

Here is a typical UEC with it's markings. (Googled library image).
The red arrow points to the Alpha Code - UT
The yellow arrow points the the part number - 13 144 712

The number will probably be hidden by the big battery box, but I will be very thankful, if anyone has access to their's, without dismantling half of the engine bay.

For me the CDTi would be best, as I have seen some UEC's listed on the bay for 1.6, 1.8, 2.0 and 2.2 PETROL only.

I am wondering if it would be a good idea to identify all Fog Light enabled UEC's, identifying also any vehicle specifics, such as trim level (SRI, Elegance, SXi) or engine type etc.

I don't want to be totally selfish, as I know that there are modders for all vehicle ages and set-ups.

UEC4 is very vague (pants!!) when it comes to identifying which UEC does what. - It is only really good at identifying the chassis number range to which the UEC's are fitted.

Both mine run fogs so I'll check them both, blacks at garage but I'm nipping there later, I'll bob both up after lunch bud.

Andy. Im in the same boat as Rob, tried with my original one and no luck, and that was with both tech2 and opcom. Tried another uec that turned out to be from a full canbus car but only threw up that the bulb check. I now have a uec from a 2002 preface petrol Elegance that I know had front fogs, just need to get it fitted and activated.
