Front fog full of water

Is this a common problem I've removed the cover underneath and loads of water came out is there a breather hole of anything that could be blocked I thought I'd ask on here before I stick it on the ramp to have a look . Also is it easy to remove or does the bumper have to come of

If so, yes it's a common fault. You could fit a snorkel kit http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...-fog-light-fix

Or do what a lot of people do. Let it dry out, then fit a small dessicant (moisture absorber) pack, such as you find in a new pair of shoes or the bottom of the box that a new electrical item came in.

I did try drilling a small hole in the cover, but when I went through a deep puddle, it just filled up with muddy water, resulting in having to take the whole foglight unit off to wash it all out.

Easier to take off the bumper if you want to remove the foglight.

yes i had this problem, but not with loads of water, mine kept misting up (common fault on passenger side)

Thanks for the repies i think ill go down the route of the packs from shoes should have plenty as the other half is always buying them lol .Just out of interest does anyone know how it actally gets damp in the first place but yet drivers side is ok

rumor has it its drips from the washer bottle, cake the fog lamp in silicon (glass to plastic area), it might fix it (you wont see the silicon as its hidden by the grill)

Spillage from your windscreen washer bottle ,
Before you put the silicone bags into the lights pick a dry day and drive around with the fog lights on that way the heat from the bulb and the fresh air will remove all the condensation,then when you fit the bag and replace cover the internals are allready dry

I'm lucky. I have a supply of dessicant at work if I want it, but I find I only have to change a bag of it once or twice a year. The wet bag I take out I tend to put on the radiator to dry out.

Once the pink crystals have changed colour to blue then that indicates they're dry. Some drying packs use different colours though. Orange and green for instance.

I fixed mine by using silicone sealant around the join where the plastic housing meets the lense.

I dried it out with a hair dryer for 30 mins then left it all day next to one of our heater vents we have in the house.

I then cleaned up the area thatmeets the lense the gave a good coating with clear silicone sealant and then left that over night to harden.

Now no more water gets in there and no condensation build up.

Next time the front bumper is off i will take a few pics to show you what i did.
