    Default A very costly month!!!!!

    Hi guys,

Well had the Vectra for just under 3 months and in the last 6 weeks have spent £180 for a new Radiator, £96 for the MOT on Front discs and pads and new drop links and today after breaking down on the way to work £185 for an Alternator, so thats £461

My 1st Vectra was a 3 year old on and all i changed in 4 years of ownership was a Thermostat, Radiator and a rear caliper, not happy that coming back to the fold i have spent so much

Fingers crossed nothing else goes :beindsof SWMBO is already telling to sell it as its eating into money we don't have.

Someone please assure me that its just a blip and as they say, 'It all comes in three's'

No, the Vectra C is a money pit
It just doesn't cope well with wear and tear
Ironically, since my VX warranty expired I've not actually spent that much on it, but parts costing lots of money keep failing
My budget for this is £500 per year

Everything else is normal wear and tear, so don't have any issue there; brake pads, discs, service parts, etc
My budget for this is £400 per year

It's just luck of the draw as to which parts fail
However noted on both of your Vectra the radiator has failed
I've only had one radiator fail (not a VX) and this was due to eventual head gasket failure

Mot, discs pads and drop links are common, as for the radiator that is just bad luck.
