Default Bulb check resistance? - LED/HID fix

Is the pulse the same regardless of bulb type etc, as long as its filament type?

Reading on a Beemer forum they piggy back an LED on the plate bulb holders, then just tuck the filament bulb away so they can run LEDs there, makes sense and done similar with mine... But.

They have done it with HIDs too, changed the H7 holder for example to a smaller holder so it can be tucked away, then just wired in their HIDS, couldn't see pics as not a member but its a similar gist to 501's...

Anyone tried this... Gonna have a go this weekend I think, as the temperamental cancellor on the drivers side is peeing me off. Will then get them tech 2'd eventually...

If you got someone with a computer to enable the 'Xenon' feature in the BCM it stops error messages and reduces the need for cancellors on the dipped beam.

The problem on all the other lights is the strobing. Fitting a bulb or resistor in parallel clears the bulb check but not the strobing I.E. If your ultra hight brightness cree LED full beams strobe at night whilst you're driving down the motorway you look like a cop car, not good. Same goes for the brake lights. You dont really want them to strobe. It doesn't matter if your side lights do it as they'll be on anyway if it's dark. Check out my latest thread. It might have a solution for the strobing LEDs... I'll find out tomorrow

But if you drive with your lights on like me it should be problem solved?

Or I'll smash in a relay just to fire off the light loom that's hidden, but powered by a fused 12v, prob even better...

You're going to drive with all four indicators, brake lights, fog lights, full beams, dipped beams, tail lights and reversing lights on all the time??? good luck with that

Not sure why you'd mess with the wiring on the dipped beams when you can just do it on the computer though?

What i have done is wire up two spare side light bulb holders to a spare fuse hole in the fuse box and tucked the normal side lights with a normal bulb in it away to the side btw not inside the light casing out side it so it doesn't melt anything lol and i get no strobeing plus i get side lights on through the day without hitting a switch.

Ha no, just the driving lights... And I will get xenons activated but everyone's a bit if a drive away and I've no free weekends this month...

    heres the thread: http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/e39...-hid-fogs.html

I might just build a relay unit anyway, already convinced that with 2 relays I can get my fogs on as cornering lights so a 3rd in there won't matter ha
