    Default coolant temp sensor

    2.2 dti sri on 04 plate.
    i want to change the one that can effect mpg, think its the timing one, which one is it, the one on the thermostat, you can see it sticking up from the left of the engine, or is it one lower down.

    2 numbers i have is
    9198691
    93174208

    which is the one on top of the thermostat housing on the top left of the engine, next to the manifold on this pic

    There isn't a coolant sensor lower down as far as I know. Only the one on the top of the thermostat housing. According to opeloem 9198691 is for oil, 93174208 is for coolant. However I've saw a few sites list 9198691 as oil/coolant sensor. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vauxhall-V...item4d05440b02. 93174208 looks to be for a petrol engine.

    The one circled in red is the coolant temp sensor. Changed mine a few months ago....mine was the 2 litre DTI though.
    The smaller one above it is the sender for the temp gauge.

    Part no, is 9198691
