    Default Coolant Temperature Sensor

    Need a bit of help on this one as im no mechanic.

    Temp sensor i belive is knackered, i bought a replacement on ebay that looks like this



    iv looked on my car and it looks like this



    The one on my car has a green top on it for the green connector to plug into. im guessing iv got the wrong one. My car is the 19.cdti 150, anyone got any ideas on this?

    Yes you've got the wrong one. That looks like one for a Cavalier/Vectra A.

    is it a used sensor you bought or new from a retailer? if latter send it back.

    I bought it brand new of Ebay. iv had the car taken in to be looked at and the list is over 1500 to get the lot done!, iv managed to save a fortune buying and fitting parts myself, i was told the blower motor was knackered and the dash had to come out, that was a load of BS because i took out 5 screws removed glovebox unplugged resistor and plugged in new one, Job done.

    1 of the things he told me was the temp sensor is knackered because the temp gague in the car used to barly reach a quater of the way up or it wouldnt move at all and now it just reads nothing all the time, iv checked the fluid etc and it all seems ok, the heat coming from the blowers is nice and hot so i was hoping the 10 minute job of replacing the sensor was worth a shot to see if it works

    im sure ive read something on here about your temp guage problems been related to the thermostat, hopefully someone will see this and remeber what the issue was with the thermostat mate.
