    Default Engine change woes

Right here goes- Had grief to say least!

Did engine swap for mates dad as I don't want it to go to a garage for it to be rushed in and every corner be cut,
I removed the eng n box out thru top, changed cambelt &w/pump , new rear main, flywheel n clutch kit, new turbo, new intercooler ( leaking everywhere ) , all filters n oil .de cat first down pipe + dpf. All back together and Ran up sweet. Then the dramas started. First off rear main was leaking, subframe off n box out - seal had bout 4 dinks on the seal- now this couldn't have been down to me as the dinks were in the wrong direction I.e not from pushing it on - turned out to be parts factor seal not genuine .... Off to vx and I got a new one , back in and all on , no leaks - hurrah .

So all bodywork back on etc and off for road test , car ****** keeps going into limp mode. Ran diagnostics and it's coming up codes p0002 and p0090 which is fuel pressure issues at the rail.

Now the thing is I've noticed it's not very quick spool up , have replaced all the hoses with silicone jobbies bar the one to the turbo , did a vacuum test with my kit and it holds steady vac so no leaks and if I use component activation I can make turbo solenoid operate.

What I'm getting at is when I run live data I'm getting silly amounts of excess boost , seen as high as 300kpa - this is what I'm thinking is causing limp mode. But if it has these faults with fuel pressure rail could this be giving wrong signals to the ecu to not activate the boost control solenoid?

The owner supplied a2008 engine at 40k , I had to swap over the old rail and press reg from old lump due to it having an extra sensor in the rail . So I'm using all the right gear to the year of the vehicle. Only thing new is injectors but they won't be different will they? Flow etc. I have re coded them into the ecu btw. I understand the coding is to just get it to fine tune as they ran ok before coding.

If anyone could help it would be great as my dads friend is desperate for it now as its been ages. Don't want to start just buying new parts hand over fist for it .

Are you using the injectors from the new engine as they are codded and would need to be codded to the ecu.

Yes I am but it ran fine with them and also have coded them into the ecu , all I thought coding did was to give it more fine tuning ?

The earlier cdti's have a press regulator on the offside of the fuel rail but the later ones don't - how do the new ones get around not having this anymore ?
