Something would have to be done about that screen mount. Custom job coming off the rear view mirror mount?

If and when I get one, I would want covert so not to have to remove every time I parked up. Shame they don't do the cameras as remotes on a cable so you could wire in the unit in the arm rest console or glove box and have the camera(s) mounted hidden away in the interior light area.

Like this really, just at a reasonable cost and with two cams.... ://www.dogcamsport.co.uk/minidvr-hd-bullet-camera.html

I saw a review on these a short while back and while overall it's not a bad DVR and gives decent output, the overriding downside for the reviewer was it's need for the external GPS antenna allied to the awkward placing of the connections. If you were to use one long term you'd obviously end up tucking the cabling away and mounting the GPS antenna semi-permanently, but would you really want to be unplugging that lot each time you took the unit out?

Going with straightforward simplicity, I opted for the RV-1000S unit from GlobalSat. It is HD, had inbuilt GPS and G units, drop down screen and the software providing all that data is automatically installed to the uSD card so no messing about installing things on PCs.
This is the unit in question : http://www.usglobalsat.com/p-703-rv-.../large/703.jpg

... and you can get a better idea of the unit on my thread here : http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...97#post1877797 from post #11 onward.
