    Default about to fit new turbo advice needed

    I am about to fit new turbo I have the how2 ect what I need to know is how to crank the engine a few times to get the oil pressure up without it actually starting then I dont damage the turbo

    rom memory its v.v important not tospin turbo up without the oil being primed.could be expensive if you do it wrong m8

    Can you not just pull out the fuse for the engine electrics?

    Alternatively although more difficu;t remove the glow plugs , this will remove any compression.

    its not the compression i think its running the turbo bearing dry that does the damage

    Just start the engine after you filled the oil. As the oil goes into the turbo hose as soon as the level is correct. Start engine and let it idle for 5 minutes then turn off and start again. Check underneath for any oil leaks as i did have a leak from one damaged washer connected to turbo oil feed. Very fragile!!

    Disconnect The coil packs leads, so engine can not fire, then crank engine a few times, you want all the belts and pumps to spin up but without sending gasses through the turbo (Maybe a bit late, but may help in the future)
