    Default Limp Home Mode

Well cruising on the M3 yesteday the car mis-fired and went into limp mode when i was in the outside lane, not fun at all

I read the codes and it seems my swirl flap is stuck (I think the Mrs has the same issue since i got married)

    Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

I sat for 5 and restarted it, got home normally, here is my question: I have Roadside Relay, Home Start, Breakdown Repair Cover and Gold Membership with the AA

As i got the car home , can i still call the AA out and explain what happened , the car is sat on the drive , reading the T&C "What Breakdowns are Considered"

Should i take the car out and call the AA ?
Or leave on the drive and call the AA explain i was on way to work, car threw up spanner fault , limp mode got me home ??

In order to make a valid claim:
    A) breakdown as a result of mechanical or electrical failureattended by the AA
    B) have been attended by the AA under your AA membership, and
    C) be prevented from continuing your journey safely, and
    D) as a result, need the repair or replacement of insured part(s) to enable your journey to be resumed or, if applicable, commenced

Vehicle : Mk1 renault scenic... I know I know but it drives

    Trim : Basic

    Engine : 1.6 16v

    Year : 2003

Is it still in limp mode now? If not it might be worth going locally to "create" the fault that makes it go into limp. Because otherwise they may call out say no fault found an then your still in same position but with a call out on your name so increasing next years premium

If codes are defiantly still their might be worth a call saying it went into limp mode light came on you pulled over an after a short time with ignition off the light went out but your a bit scared to let your wife an kids drive the car could they investigate it.

In my experience its all down to breakdown guy themselves some are really helpfull. An others just seem to not want to do anything.

AA just left, couldnt find any codes, non stored apparently even though the spanner light stays on, he said he would need the EML light on , however there is showing codes using Vauxcom,

So i will reset the flippin thing , let it run and do it again then take it to Vx and let them sort it out

My car decided to go into limp home mode today for about 20 seconds then went back to normal, i put my code reader on it and there was no fault codes showing and live data was ok so i will be keeping my reader in the car incase it returns again .
