    Default Z30DT Remap?

While I was at the garage this morning trying to figure why my rear tyres are feathering/stepping on the inside I asked about a remap. They has a look and reckons this engine can't be done? True?

I believe it can but it's a very risky thing to do on the Z30. Y30 isn't too bad but the Z30 has a very fragile fuel pump and people are advised not to unless they can stomach a serious 4 figure bill for a fuel pump if it goes.

Just to inform you all Y30 and Z30 pumps are the identical so a Z30 cant have a weaker pump. and the suction valves are all the same as well.

I'm glad someone pointed this out. There is a danger in repeating urban myths..............I can't pretent to be better informed, except that (thankfully) my local VX garage has a great mechanic who owns two Z30DT engined cars. One of his cars has been remapped (successfully) and one is standard.

Tbh I think the myth stemmed from someone having a bad experience with remapping one and no one really wanted to risk it after that. Ian C's is boxed I believe at 210PS.

Sounds good...........so, does anyone have any experience of remap providers in the South/Southwest?? I am seriously considering it now as I think the V6 engine in standard form seems to be very understressed at 181 HP & 295 LB/FT (it is a strong engine, ancilliaries aside)
