confused How do I connect this stereo to my Vectra C?

I've recently purchased a new stereo on Fleabay. Absolute bargain, brand new, never heard of it!

I have no Idea how to wire it in!

    It's a Car Video CDMP3 model MG012B.

If any one has any knowledge of this system and how I could install it I would be very grateful!!

Easiest way is to buy the facia and wiring harness adaptors, then buy a spare set of female iso connectors and wire the radio wires into the iso block, some radios may have a wiring diagram on the chassis of the unit. You can have it installed at a car audio shop but they will charge labour to fit it, other than that is buy a unit with the correct iso connectors to start with

That's going to take more than a wiring adaptor, the wiring there has a ATX computer power supply connection on it! It would be easier to make your own plug up instead. Tbh if you really want to keep the radio, take it to a proper audio shop and get them to fit it. That's not standard wiring there.

    Okay I have had a look -

You are running a Full CAN Vectra-C with a CDTi engine.

The connector in the image is the radio's own connector, and the loom has plain ends (no connectors).
So you can disregard the "ATX special wiring comment).

I would get an SOT122S or an ISO2CAR conversion loom, available from the bay of e, or you can pay twice as much from Halfords.
Your aerial will need a Fakra to ISO converter.

    Now then wire colours -
On after market head-units, the yellow is permanent live, and the red is the ignition live
(Vauxhall is red for permanent live, and black for ignition live)
You will need to take your black from the lighter socket.

Note - your head-unit is connected via a Quadlock connector,NOT ISO.

    From your Quadlock connector -

RED - Battery live is on pin 15
Ground - Brown is on pin 12

There is a white sticker on the top of your original CD30, CDC40, CD70 head-unit, which will tell you what the speaker colours and pins are.

If you need illumination, then take a link to the grey/yellow wire on the lighter socket or if you have a charge socket, then there should be a grey/yellow wire on a socket tied up out of the way near to the ashtray or below the hand-brake.

you just need an iso connector and and connect the same colors and connect to the car it will be fine. You also will need a facia to fit the unit.

It is a full CAN, so not an ISO connector -
Car is a late 2004 fitted with a CDTi engine.
All cars with CDTi are Full CAN. - Therefore Quadlock connector.
    Half-CAN's are quoted with DTi's.

It appears now I've opened my eyes I can see that the wires in the picture are not going into the radio, the connector will actually plug into the back of the radio.

Time for a visit to Specsavers I think.

It is still an ATX plug though!

Either that, or put more water with it - "hic!!"

A lot of aftermarket radio manufacturers will use readily available connectors, rather than pay for the design and manufacture of bespoke plugs. - Just good business sense.
