    Default Tyre wear duration question...

I had on my rear tyres quite bad uneven wear on the inside edge of the tyres, random blocks were notably higher than others causing a small vibration and a droning noise, this was put down to the shocks (1 was defo failing) so these were changed about 600 miles ago now. Prior to changing them I put a part worn tyre on the back to quieten it off, and also to prove that was the issue (so it didn't do the same to new tyres).

My question is, after the 600 (or so miles) the part worn tyres is showing no signs of the same stepped wear, it safe to say its now sorted, or would it take more miles than that to show on a tyre..?

I want to replace both rears, and want to make sure they suffer the same issue.

Sounds like a camber problem, would get it aligned, The tyre tread design will have an effect on how it wears too, I think older michelins were bad for uneven wear and causing a droning noise.

The rear tyres should not become marked from excessive wear until about 12K miles
Once they have been on the rear for in excessive of 20K miles I would expect to see issues that would be noticeable
However it really depends on how bad the incorrect alignment is
If it is vastly incorrect it could be as little as 1500 miles before the rear tyres are damaged from the excessive wear, and that would be a serious issue that needs resolving
