NCDC 2013 and CD fault

New to Vectras, just got a 2004 SRI with the NCDC 2013, when I put the nav disc in it is ejected with the message insert CD with label upwards. Also the 4 CD magazine is not being recognised when inserted? Radio and trip computer work fine! Any ideas?

Try a cd cleaner

these units are prone to laser faults as i had to change mine a few time's before also copied cd's can weaken lens

im fed up of my ncdc2013 skipping everytime a bass line hits, and it takes forever to load a cd, 90% of the time i get ERROR on screen. PITA!!! cant wait to fit my new HU soon. if i were you i would get rid of it.

ive got a £1,000 HU laying around the house somewhere, just getting the bits together to install it and get the BC functions to work as well as the steering wheel controls. its a single din with flip out screen, but i dont want the generic fascia adaptor that you get, i want to design my own so my HU sits lower and has the cubby hole above it. (if you get what i mean?)

Sounds like a typical dirty laser lens...
I have had this on a CD70 - a good clean with a cotton-bud, and full service was restored. (on both drives audio and nav.)
The drives don't like poor quality CD's. Good quality verbatim or similar work well.
Supermarket ones may be cheap, but are total rubbish.

I've had this and tried a cleaning disc, didn't like that either. What I did was really blow in the slot a few times (guess it moved some dirt) and then try the cleaning disc again, worked long enough to recognise the disc and that's sorted the problem.

I have tried lense cleaning CD's.

They have never worked an really dirty laser lenses.

Only dismantling the unit, and cleaning the lenses with a cotton bud (q-tip) was sufficent to get all the dirt off.

A good time to clean any dirt, grease or fluff out of the mechanism whilst you have the casing off and the drives outside the case.

I presume that you would not be able to list due your membership status - I think only well established full members can post in the classified section.

I know i need 100+ posts and premium membership to post in the classifieds, but when i click the link, i think the message i get just says its being re-configured. I'd rather sell to someone on here, that list it on ebay.
