new egr fittment does this need programing in to ecu

im looking at replacing my egr valve on my 1.9cdti 8v 56 vec after i had a exhaust emmision light, a fellow member read the faulst code for and was an open circuit on the egr, once i replace the valve do i need to reprograme the valve to the cars ecu or fit and go

never had to do it on mine

I think it will be fit and go, but I would look at google for ways to test it before buying a new one to make sure its not a wiring issue!

Open circuit fault have you confirmed wiring an plug are ok before splashing out?

no how do i go about checking that out critch and what would i need to do if it was the plug or the wiring?

Do you own a or able to get hold of a multimeter or a test light?

need to check power an ground ecu control

Cleaned mine out (both sides) runs like a dream now.(57reg)

yeah ive cleaned mine no and again and had no issues ive checked the connecter to the egr and its fully locked on ?????
