Default CD70 - Radio has Mind of its Own

    Just a quick question..

The radio on my CD70 started jumping radio stations yesterday.. Would hold a station for a few seconds then it would start changing by itself.

Took it out today, checked the connections and put it back in... seemed to be a bit better.. re did the autostore and it held a single station for my 2 hour drive.

Anyone seen this before? Was it likely to have cured by doing the autostore, or re-sitting the connection on the back?

    Cheers
    Aidi

Maybe just a loose connection at the rear mate and because you moved it it's cured it.

You haven't been messing with the settings?

If you have the radio set to local, then it will bounce around from station to station.
The TP (traffic programme) function often does this too.

I always have TP and local turned off, on my CD70 in my Cavalier. Never wanders off channel

Nah, not been messing with it at all... Just started having a mind of its own. Could be that it just got its knickers in a twist, and the redoing the AutoStore sorted it out... Ill see how it goes in the next few days.

Hmm - sounds like a standard Vectra.

Every now and again they just throw a curve-ball to catch you off guard.

There is so much information bouncing around the three CAN networks, that sometime the modules get in a pickle.

The quickest fix is to pull the battery for a few minutes,
bang the kettle on and have a bacon butty.
Then reconnect your battery and see if it has cleared any programming /electronic glitches.

Works for 90% of these hiccups.

Atleast it was easy to sort
