Number 2 mate, then mod the vectra to your liking THEN get the Insignia VXR when the prices are more reasonable.

Just get the VXR Insignia mate - its what you really want and you already know they're a world apart from the Vectras. If you get the diesel you'll just be disappointed knowing how much better the Vxr is. Spending any more money on the Vectra would just be a waste IMO...

Having driven a few VXR's i can honestly say i'm smitten.
I'm not worried about running one, if i kept the Vectra and bought a diesel Insignia, running them both would work out more expensive than just the VXR.
Another plus for the VXR is having a 4x4 layout. I know this is also available with the Insignia 2.0T etc but the VXR has more WOW factor and i'm thinking about bad weather now i work further away from home and to be honest, the Vectra is cronic in the snow & ice !

The plus for buying a diesel Insignia is lower insurance, road tax, fuel economy, less likely to get the attention of scum and i can still take the Vectra to shows and go mental on modding the power output.
