    Default Heater Fan

    Could someone please help.
My fan only works on setting 4. I have looked through this forum looking for answers.
I have changed the resistor pack and pollen filter (clearing drain etc)
I have seen a few people mention the relay switch. I have found where these are under glove box but which one is it.
There is a brown and a blue (brown one is above the blue) that should be replaced. The brown one clicks when i change fan setting from 3 to 4.
    Any help would be appreciated.

Could be that the thermal fuse has gone even if you have replaced the resistor pack (it has been known for them to be defective even if new) - is your fan spinning ok on no 4 setting - could be that the fan motor shaft is binding / tight and blew the thermal fuse as soon as you switched the motor on. Remove the pollen filter and you should be able to reach in and spin the plastic fan by hand and see if it turns freely. To replace the thermal fuse is easy http://www.vectra-c.com/forum/showth...n-resistor-fix and there is also another how2 to lubricate the lower motor bearing that is more difficult to access

I would be looking at the thermal fuse then on the resistor pack - sounds like classic symptoms

All sorted. Bought a thermal fuse from maplins and soldered it on to the OEM part that I bought off ebay. Noticed that the fuse on this part was only rated to 205c and not 240c. It also had different slots but after a bit of jigging all good.
