Default Need advice on tyre wear please.

Just had a quick check before the MOT next week and found that both front tyres are worn on the insides so I reckon it will fail but here is the issue.

Had all four tyres replaced with Uniroyal Rainsport 2's back in february this year. Had full wheel alignment done etc and I have covered approx 9000 miles. The rears are fine but the wear is identical on the fronts. Am I right in thinking that as the wear is equal that they have not set up the fronts correctly rather than it being worn bushes or components?

If this is the case I have read about Hunters System being the best so I would be grateful if anyone has had it done on their veccy from a currently licensed franchise within the Notingham or Lincolnshire area.

They may still pass an MOT as the tread had to be 1.6mm across the centre 75% an the entire circumference.

it could also be that you have too much negative camber.

visit alignmycar website to find local outlet with hunters system

I hope your rainsports don't end up like mine did on the rear of my car when they wore down on the inner edges. These spilts were all around the circumferance.

Rears are fine it is both of the fronts that have worn equally which makes me think the settings were not adjusted properly

I had a dream about realignment last night, think I might need to get out more lol...

I had mine done a bit back but I'm still not happy, I think once it gets into the "green" on the machine they stop as it within tolerances, but on my rear its as if they have come from a lot of negative then stopped on the green, still too much neg IMO. When I go back I'm going to make them over compensate into positive camber, then come back into the green. If I make sense...

Sounds like its been set to toe out to much.. Did you have a hunter alignment or a silly kwikfit/national etc laser alignment?

Gauges at fast fit centres very rarely get checked for calibration. They get treated realy badly as most often they are in a rush.. I used to work for one of these places for 13 yrs so kind of know what crap they get upto..

I was mearly pointing out to watch your front tyres don't start cracking and slpitting like mine did when the inner edges wore down.

Found a placwe in Nottingham. Middleton Service Station. Will see how it gets on with the MOT first and then get it booked in.

Big Dave, how far had you covered when they went like that?
