    Default Motorway happenings

I was driving northbound past M1 J26 around 16:30 today (Friday...) when I saw the car in front of me hit something and I had to make a quick move to not hit it too. (I did check lane 4 was clear before stepping over the line from lane 3)

It was a dog. A black lab lying in the road and some of the car's bumper too. The driver seemed to be heading in the direction of the hard shoulder to pull over.

Got straight on the phone to 999, as a fairly large dog and bumper lying on the carriageway is clearly a bit dangerous.
Got a phone call about 20 mins later to say that it had been removed, so can only assume it was dead (as I expected).

    Felt a bit sad really.

Gave our short legged Jack Russell an extra fuss when I got home.
