Well I had another near miss today on the M1 between 11 and 12 in the roadworks.

Can any one point out what I did wrong this time?
I had cruise set to 50mph so i was not speeding.

Are we going to be treated to more of these vids? Yes, yes the lorry pulled out infront of you it happens all of the time, however are you sure absolutely no part of you was thinking the lorry may pull out after the Corsa pulled in front of him and braked? The rule of the road is always anticipate the next drivers move. Even if you're the best driver in the world, treat every other drive like they haven't a clue. Albeit the real culprit I think was the Corsa it seemed to pull infornt of the lorry and brake. If it were me I would have slowed down when I seen the brake lights opf the corsa because often enough someone is going to do what the lorry did. And on the next note who will win; a Vectra or a 15T+ lorry? I know where I'd put my money.

Blimey, that was close!!! I can see the slow-coaches in lane 1 were holding him up, but that is no excuse to whip into lane 2 without checking mirrors!!! It looks like he had no idea you were there.

I used to drive a very low sports car and I found it was easy to end up in lorry blind-spots (cut up spectacularly a few times and *knew* they hadn't seen me) so I got into the habit of either waiting until there was enough distance in front of them so I could blast past them, or passing with a lane to spare (i.e. in the outside lane in the case of your scenario).

One of my hobby horses is people NOT cruising at a steady speed. Why are some drivers seemingly unable to understand the relationship between their right-foot and the number being pointed at by the big clock in front of them?! It surprises me the number of people who tell me they have cruise control but that they NEVER use it.

What it seems was he did not really realise that you were driving that close. Some mirrors may seem closer or farther than you actually are! But no excuses at all! He would be convicted if he actually hit you. And cos u were recording it does help the case so much. He should signal and wait for the flash of the headlights before pulling out. Its a requirements of hgv and such alike!

That driver was in the wrong. Only way to make an impact... Ring the company if theres the number on back or side or on cab door. Tell them of the bad driving and say that there is a recordings you can provide if needed. More the boss tell drivers to be more aware. The less there be of accidents!
