    Default battery flat

ok so i had a faulty alternator a couple month ago, i bought a reconditioned unit and its fixed the charging problem

my mum went to use my car yesterday and it just turned over slowly

i charged the battery overnight and put it on today, started first time

14.1v at the battery and increases to maybe 14.3 when rev'd

    exact same at the alternator

the car dosnt get used alot so could it have just gone flat from short journeys?

Drive to work last night fine finished at 6am and the battery is flat again

how do I test if it is the battery that's at fault or the alternator? The alternator was fitted not long ago but it was a reconditioned unit

You need to have the battery load tested. They can still show as being fully charged but cannot produce the amperage. Its possible running with a duff alternator has also done your battery in, go and have your battery tested.

Yeah I'm gonna take it to work tonight as am sure we have the equipment at the engineers I'm thinking it could be the battery as if it was the alternator wouldn't it have just died while I was driving

everything was fine while I was driving it just after it had been turned off

Sounds like the battery has a knackered sell if you can try a different battery.
