    I did a list many years ago for the three "era's" of display - that is

    Half CAN - oct 2002 to sept 2004
    Full CAN pre-facelift - oct 04 to sept 05
    Full CAN facelift - oct 05 to end of production.

    ALL GID's are the same size - it is only the facelift CID that is different - that is a widescreen device.

    You should be looking for one with codes BJ or BK - they are the later GID's with the three line BC format.
    The most common pre-facelift full CAN unit is the display with alpha code DD

    Do not bother with Half-CAN displays.

    Yes - you will need the donor display divorcing and putting into delivery mode (or the donor vehicles car pass number).

    And you will need to divorce your BID from your head-unit.
    You will then need to pair your new GID and head-unit and any other MS CAN devices all at the same time

    That is
    DAB = digital broadcast unit if fitted
    DIS = Display
    EHU = Head-unit
    UHP4 = Bluetooth / telephone portal.

    Then program in any variance config or code index parameters that you need.

    Half CAN display is wired differently, but can work on a full CAN car without the radio.
    Just need to swap your power wires around, and also put in an ignition live feed for pin 4 of the display.

    The green CAN wires should all be the same.

    You will need the BC buttons on the wiper stalk to operate the Board Computer functions on a half CAN display.

    The half CAN display shows more board computer values than the later full CAN displays.

    Hmm - Steering wheel controls !
    The stalk is for half-CAN displays.

    Are you fitting the steering wheel control adapter for you after-market head-unit?
    If you are, then the BC functions will not respond to the steering wheel controls.

    If you are not fitting the steering wheel adapter loom for the after-market radio, then yes the scroller on the left spoke of the steering wheel will operate the Board Computer functions.

    Press the left scroller to select,
    roll up or down to scroll through the options
    press the scroller to select.
