    Default help!!!!!please

    hi.i need some help desperately...ive cleaned the egr valve,cleaned air flow meter..cleaned the inlet manifold of crud..my mate plugged his diagnostic tool in and it came up with fault code p0243.boost pressure sensor.ive just fitted a new boost pressure sensor and it still going in limp mode,it cracks when i rev the engine.the part i have bought was 2nd hand so there is a chance its a duffer.can anyone help?any help would be grateful!!!!

    I would stick the old boost sensor back on and see how it goes

    well its broke tony as it was throwing up fault code p0243 boost pressor sensor,thats why ive bought this one.do you think i should buy a brand new sensor not 2nd hand?

    I would start with a thorough clean of the 2nd hand one you've got. Use carb cleaner. If no good then buy brand new

    Alternatively, long shot, but if you know anyone with similar car (same engine), try a swap...

    i used oven cleaner,would that damage it?

    I would check boost pipes and use carb cleaner would think oven cleaner may be too corrosive mate

    As you look into engine bay mate you will see i little whit cylinder shape at front right next to battery box they have two hoses coming out of it they tend to crack or when boosting close up due to suction causing said problem so people replace them with silicone hoses there is also a third hose under engine cover on right side it will be in a crescent shapeits about six inches long il look for link
