    Default Where's my oil gone?

    After having a new turbo fitted 2months back, because the Z20NET was burning it and fubarbed the turbo, the car is still losing oil.

    There are no leaks on the floor or any smoke that I've noticed. I just get the oil light on from a warm start and the oil level is on minimum.

    The car is going from max to min in about 2-300 miles.

    ?what colour is the exhaust smoke pal,could be burning it.

    Does it use any coolant? How many miles on the car?

    Could be a few things, but a litre in 300 miles seems a lot to lose ...

    Hows your exhaust looking? Bit of blue smoke in there?

    Oops :-) Got beaten to it...

    Check for traces of "mayo" in the cooling system as well..

    Last time I had a car drink oil at this rate (D-reg Austin Metro ), it was head gasket failure. There was very little blue smoke from the exhaust too....

    intercooler i bet
    Vectra vxr custome remaps egr deletes dpf and diagnostic work all remaps are custome bench tuning avalible all genuine equipment PM for info

    I haven't seen any blue smoke. I'll check the coolant in a bit.

    As Paul pointed out - check your pipework as well.. could be hiding in there... I would think car would run funny at speed..worth a check tho.
    When did you last have a compression test done?

    The car runs as it should. But the blue smoke is now back on a cold start for about 10seconds then it goes.

    Could it be the turbo again?

    I'd guess it's a seal/gasket somewhere - get a compression test done..shouldn't be dear.
    If your turbo came with a warranty you might be able to get it checked FOC..
