Default Another 2.2 Dti limp thread

Hi. I'm having problems with my Dti going into limp mode. I know there are countless other threads about this problem but none of them seem specific to my problem. Sometimes when I accelerate normally through the gears up to motorway speeds, the car will go into limp in either 4th or 5th gears. If I accelerate really gently, it won't go into limp. I've checked all the hoses & everything looks & sounds ok - I can't feel anything blowing anywhere. What is confusing me though, is if I rag the car from say 30mph up to 70mph, its fine. I would have thought if I did have a dodgy hose somewhere harder acceleration would make the problem worse. The only fault code I get is the overboost code (is it p0234?). Has anybody else noticed this?
Should I be looking at maybe cleaning the turbo or a new boost sensor or should first port of call still be replacement hoses?

    Hi dave
it may be that all you need to do is to give the boost sensor a clean , but on removal you may find that it is well cruded up then i would recommend you remove the top manifold as well and clean that out as well .
Just spray the solenoid sensor tip with carburettor cleaner to remove the carbon build up or use a small paint brush to remove the more stubborn build up.
Dont scrub the tip as it can be easily damaged .
similarly with the manifold spray the internals with carb cleaner and adgitate with a paint brush to remove the carbon build up then flush out.

Cheers bob. I might try a new sensor cos I cleaned it a few weeks ago. I might have damaged it cos I just gave it a good wipe with some bogroll! Do you know if these turbo cleaner kits are any good? I would probably try one if they work but I imagine they are no substitute for giving the manifold a good scrub.
