    Default cutting out again :@

right she has started cutting out again the egr has been replaced and injectors 2 and 3 have been refurbished as they came up with that fault last time she was cutting out. drove for 2 hours before it started missing and juddering at about 2000rpm and the eml light would flash on and off until it cut out. i then turned it off and on again and it would drive again. got towed home in the end. the faults read as injector 2 and 3 fail and 3 open circuit. i know the injectors are fine as they have been tested, what else could it be? dry joints in ecu?

ECU or Wiring Failure? Have you traced back and checked the harness for damage? I had a car where the loom had managed to come in to contact with a pulley. It wore through the coating and eventually shorted cables and stalled the car. However I never suspected this as I could restart the car right away. What was happening though was that the engine tilted slightly forward on its mounts under load. This allowed it to come in to contact with and short the wires. Once off thought the short circuit had gone and the engine would fire up. Had me going for a while that one I can tell you!!!

Had a similar fault on Renault Clio where engine harness securing block rubbed through harness an was shorting it out on acceleration. Causing limp mode until turned off.

As for software update dealerships can do it.

Otherpeople with relevant software an a vxl service box subscription can download latest update an do that way.

Sometimes tracing wiring faults cost more than having to replace parts.

They are time consuming unless you are very very very lucky.
