Default Getting someone done for tailgating?

I always seem the be the unlucky sod that drives infront of these ********* who like to get right up my jacksy when driving.

I pretty much always stick to the speed limit, especially when I have my 6 month old daughter in the car, so you always get the odd ****** who thinks they should decide that 30s are 40s.

If I installed a rear camera on my car, and recorded when someone was tailgating me, and sent the footage to the police do you think it would be enough for them to do something?

I absolutely hate tailgaters with a passion, nothing makes my blood boil more, so I would love for these forkers to be done for dangerous driving or something.

I would position the camera so it would record their reg, car, and their face through the windscreen, could even try and rig it in with a parking sensor which would give the distance they are at behind me

I think you'll need to clearly display an 'I'm filming you' notice for it to be permissible in court.

I do think that speed cameras should be used for this too as it is one irritating habbit which I utterly deplore. Instead of the camera measuring the time it takes the car to pass two points, how about it measures the time between Car A passing a point and behind it Car B doing the same.

But there are no real set guidelines on how to detect with tailgating apart from the 2 second rule.

That makes you the dangerous one. Best thing is - goes against the grain - let them go - they'll only end up 1 car infront of you 10miles up the road anyway. See it all the time on my way to work. Even the jokers who jump to the front of the queue of traffic - still end up just in front of me or worse still, behind me. Laughable.

I do sometimes drive even slower and start slamming on and stuff but then I think why should I? Why should some idiot cause me to get angry and start being dangerous on the road aswell. I find that if I drive slower I start getting other cars treating my like the cause of the problem thinking I'm just a curb crawler!

I slammed on twice at a junction because of some *****-ho3 tailing me, and she stalled twice haha.

I'd just rather get them done tbh, knowing they will get a ticking winging it's way to their house would satisfy me even more. If only they brought out devices that could prove they were too close for too long.

There are some good stickers you can get here http://www.cafepress.co.uk/+tailgating+bumper-stickers

That device that was in Top Gear would be good, were you type something in and it shows up on that LED plate in the back window. Could think of some good things to write there lol

How about get one of these and hold it out the window so the person behind can see it. Sure that would do the trick lol..essex_police_cap_1990__mid.jpg

Oh, and I'm not saying impersonate a police officer, before i get slated..

It would be absolutely awesome to get the flashing blue front grill lights, let them go infront of you and then pull them over, when they pull over drive past them with your middle finger held high and a grin on your chops!

But of course I know you can get done for that!
