Boot liner and 3rd brake light swap

Hi Guys,
After a month in Italy and away from my Vec, I've got home to a new smoked 3rd brakelight. Its the last part and I've completely changed my club to an SRI. How easy is it to do, and how do you drop the boot lining out to access it? Also, I have a really annoying metallic rattle/clunk coming from the rear; I'm assuming its the boot lock which needs adjusting - I've seen it mentioned on here a few times that it can be a common problem.

The rattle/clunk is possibly the problem that I fixed last week... Adjust the rubber stops on the boot hatch to make them stick out further.

If you look down the list of threads I've started recently you'll find the one with the instructions someone gave me. 2 minute job!

Thanks DNS. I saw your post and gave it a go, but didn't work for me Its really driving me mad! My cars an 05 and its nice quiet car with the except of the boot rattle - so damned irritating

it might be the parcel shelf bouncing round that seems to create abit of noise for some people

Changed the red 3rd brake light for a smoked one this aft. Also FINALLY cured my creak/rattle, it was the book lock - a really quick job too. Been nagging me for ages, to say I'm chuffed is an understatement!

What was wrong with the lock or how did you solve it, my black ones doing this...

The hoop in the boot, that the locking mechanism locks into, had works its way down a bit, so the lock wasn't keeping the tailgate firmly in place - causing the creek and rattling. Open the two tie down point and the plastic cover just pulls off, then its just a case of adjusting the hoop by slackening of the two torxs screws. Quick fix and made such a difference - was driving me mad!
