cant do any harm by changing it, mine was done 5000 miles ago (before i bought the car and is sated in the service log) but i will be removing the cam cover soon and taking some pics to see if mine has been fitted with the modifed bits, as i have no idear what was actually fitted 5000 miles ago if it aint been fitted with the upgraded one then ill have it redone.
i also wonder if its the real vauxhall kit that is at fault, and acutally wonder if a different brand timing kit is better then a gm one, after all it is the vauxhall ones that fail.
Having trouble finding HOW2 for timing chain replacement on the 2.2 direct.VX want almost £800 to replace.Joke.

£249 excluding parts (sure its gotta be excluding parts at that price?), but that price is up to 2.0 cant see why a 2.2 should be more expensive.
The modified larger oil feed port was yonks ago when the Vec-B was still in production and should have been fitted to your Vec-C when it was built.
The modified part is actually the chain tensioner. It's the one that's fitted to the 2.0 turbo engine and doesn't rely on hydraulic pressure to operate correctly. All chain kits should now come with with new tensioner unless you end up buying old stock.
