Is there a definitive "sticky" for this topic?

ie does 5 x 110 with an ET of 42 cover ALL Vec C's, or are Signums different?
Is it crucial that specific tyres are bought to handle axle weight and if so what are they?
(Stupid one this) do the pressure sensing valves simply get transferred to the new tyres?
What are wobbly bolts?

My tyres are now beyond legal and I feel the need to upgrade to 18"s...which will leave me with a spare set of Elite 17"s if anyone is interested...

yes, all vec C's and signum's use the same wheels, they are all interchangeable...
And yes, it's very crucial that you use the correct weight rated tyres for your car.. you MUST use 91 rated tyres for your car because of the weight of the V6 diesel engine..
if you have pressure sensing valve's, then yes, they will transfer them to the new wheels, if they're just standard valves then you will be fitted with new ones..

Wobbly bolts are bolts that have a seperate 'cone' on them that is freefloating, rather than machined onto it like standard VX bolts, to allow the bolt to take up small mismatches in the PCD of the hub and the wheel.. they won't take up huge differences, just slight ones..

For my existing Elite alloys? Well the tyres are well beyone useful, so thats that out, and one alloy has a nasty scratch....I'll post pics in the asap, bit for the time being Iwas thinking £100??

I would go for an et of 35 though, the wheels sit out in the arches a bit nicer than 42`s ...

Hi ya mate, what is this ET thing you speak of??? Just for us unenlightened folk...
I know its what i have got on mine...

ET is basically the distance that the centre of your wheel is offset to the edge. The bolts aren`t exactly in the middle if you see what I mean, So a 35 will sit 7mm further out than a 42 . It isn`t much but makes a big difference to the look of the car.

ET35's in 18 and 19" wheels will cause premature inside tyre wear, especially on 8" rims.

You are better off going for Omega offset which is ET 38 as that is what VX used on the original i35 Vectra !!!!!
