Default What did I do wrong - rattle continues!

    Hi gang!

I recently replaced all four brake discs and all the pads - within days got a really annoying rattle from the rear pads.

So I searched on here and found its common with the aftermarket cheepies

So I bought a brand new GM set - with the fancy springs on the back of the inner pad and fitted them.....silence!

But its come back - the rattle has returned WTF

Can anyone shed any light? Are the springs on the inner pad supposed to locate in the piston - or just offer resistance?

    Thanks for any help, Chris

By the way, they didnt rattle before and were down to 1mm or so....

The spring slides around the piston and locks in place iirc.

Not the new one's they have a spring on the end of pad that presses against the housing to keep it in place.

Actually that sounds more like what I have and they are providing a resistance - just not enough!

Yep thats it - the OE ones were in there - NO rattle, I put the aftermarkets in and they rattled, the new ones are OE same as your pic - and they too rattle!

These are the new ones (same as the non rattling originals)
