Just changed mine last week. Paid 175 £ including two gaskets. Got it from Vauxhall Penfolds. Had to wait 2 days for delivery.
Why don't you just blank it off ?
Its hard to tell. I`ve done mine at 60k miles. Before VX I had Mondeo MK3 - done 120k, so its lottery.

More its 1.9cdti
I got to about 140K miles and mine went (Y30DT engine)
VX dealership diagnosed it as EGR Valve failure
Consulted TIS and confirmed it is a replacement only
I had a local diesel specialist spend two hours getting it out, cleaning it, and putting it back in
Complete waste of time and made no difference
The saving grace is the diesel specialist only charges half of what the dealership charges, and advised they hadn't actually done one as yet but would give it a go only charging the labour for the removal (as they wanted the experience of this engine)
Mine still throws up the Emissions Warning light occasionally, but I will need to replace it
I've done a further 5K miles since and it usually occurs once a week

Yes, I had the dealership show me where it was after they quoted four hours labour (2 hours labour to remove and 2 hours to refit)
Ironically, you can see and touch the top of it, but to actually get to it you have to remove the manifold and everything in between
Clearly an oversight which was corrected for the Z30DT
I then showed it to the diesel specialist I use and they agreed two hours was sufficient
They took just over two hours to get it out, but refitting was just over an hour
