Question Which New Battery from EuroCarParts?

Hi folks. I'm after a new car battery, put my reg in eurocarparts & I get soo many results. Which one do I go for? They all have these different numbers & stuff on them, but which one is the best? I want one as powerful as possible as I've always got my sub on loud when I'm driving. Any advice much appreciated.

Ah is the discharge rate, this has no real relation as to how 'powerful' the battery is, it only gives an indication of how long it would take to fully discharge the battery.
When buying a replacement battery it's more important to look at the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps) and CA (Cranking Amps) ratings. These ratings give a clear indication of how much current will be available when attempting to start the engine and the length of time the battery can sustain that level of current before battery voltage drops below 7.2 volts.

So basically the higher the cranking amps rating, the more 'power' you'll have available to crank the engine and start it, however if you have an engine that doesn't want to start very easily then you'd need to know the current draw on the battery during cranking (an Amps clamp is the easiest way to measure this) and then compare that current draw to the Ah rating of the battery. This will give you some indication of how long you can keep cranking the engine over before the battery 'goes flat' and needs to be recharged.

Personally I would look for a battery with a CCA rating in the region of 700A and an Ah rating of at least 70Ah that matches the dimensions of the original battery. From my experience, Varta Blue batteries are very good for the money (click) or if you want something a little more powerful the Varta Silver (click) is a very good choice.
