You're just right : boxy is the word.

But blackening the small side recesses will make the horizontal bar protrudre each side of the color coded vertical posts, making it hopefuly less boxy.

A agree leaving it completely color coded could be an option, but I fear it would look bulky, especially on a bright paint. It's supposed to be a diffuser, so it's supposed to let air pass through... What it actually doesn't BTW. Well anyway, it's just adhesive tape here, so it's easily removed (it's painted already underneath).

Another option would be to paint it differently or wrap it in carbon. The whole part is attached to the Irmscher bumper insert using lugs and two metal brackets. It can be removed and painted (or wrapped) separately.

As I said, if anybody is at ease with Photoshop, please feel free to try different possibilities and post them here.

Yeah, it looks far better with the sides blacked out as well as the centre.

I don't know whether it's because it's at eye level also, but I can actually see that it has an angle now, as a diffuser should. Rather than the original complaint I made about it being boxy

There's no angle to it, just a slight edge. That is just an insert but tbh I may not even fit mine.

Yep, less boxy like that, as I thought it would look.

I'm still wondering how it would look like full carbon (for instance), though.
