New alternator and belt

Hi all I've just had to put a new alternator and belt in my old cdti but now it sounds like the belt is slipping and 4th and 5th gear it does do it in lower gears but not like in 4th and 5th is this cos its a new belt and alternator or is the belt not tight enough.

Is the tensioner in good condition?

Truth mate i dont know i didnt even look at it i was just peed off cos it failed the day after he got the car and he is trying to make out i knew it was going if i knew it was gone i would have renewed that when i did the battery/starter/glowplugs and every thing else i renewed under the bonnet in the last 2 weeks lol

Tbh if it were me i'd have told him where to go. Sold as seen when it comes to private sales. If you had known it was going to fail a day later then he should have picked it up when he was looking at the car

try some belt slip it works wonders just spray it on whilst its running and let it soak in it will sound worse at first but then it should go away

It was to the brother inlaw last time im selling to family lol
