Default How well matched is the paint between cars?

Now, my title has made no sense whatsoever

What I am trying to ask is, how well matched would the paint on my car be to any other metro blue vec?

I have a nasty crease at the front of my rear passenger door (must have been a previous owner) and there is no way a smart repair can be done to it.

The only other ways would either be fill it and spray half the side of the car or replace the door skin and repaint half the side of the car.

I'm probably looking at about £3-400 worth of work but i've seen 2 or three metro blue doors for between 60 and 80 quid which would be an amazing saving and alot less hassle.

Has anyone bought a correctly coloured panel from ebay for their car that's been a perfect match?

the conditions the car has been kept in will be different which will affect the colour of the paint so wont be 100% but it will be close

what i would do is find a good door fit it then give the whole car a wax with that colour matched wax
