    Default Sickness/Accident insurance

    Hello all

As i have just taken out a huge loan for a new car and various other bits i think that now its time to think about insurance just incase i loose my job or break a leg. i have been looking online and have seen some good deals but i was just wondering if any of you guys/girls have this kind of insurance and roughly how much you pay(if you dont mind me asking). Any details and recommendations of good companys would be great

I'm self-employed and have an employment insurance bond for £1000 per month, as this is the maximum available on this type of policy
In the event of any accident, illness, injury, loss of employment, and various other events
My premium is £18 per month with Pinnacle

In the event of a claim, they pay :
£650 per month, for a maximum of 30 months
    OR
£1000 per month, for a maximum of 20 months

Maximum one claim per year, no payout in the first 30 days

As a result of having this policy I don't take out any other form of financial insurance protection

I would strongly recommend doing your research before considering PPI (Payment Protection Insurance) as much of it is a mega rip-off with lots of clauses in the small print making it not quite as good as it sounds ... have a look at this site for useful info: http://www.fool.co.uk/news/archive.a...=470&year=2006

I have to agree PPI is an absolute joke and complete rip off
Work out the % you pay compared to the finance you pay
Not only that, they normally don't pay for the first 30 days, even if you do qualify, and then only for 11 months

    Search for :
    Income Protection Plan

Most major banks still do them, but the rates aren't as good as they were a few years ago
    Recommend :
    Nationwide, visit a local branch

Also, they are not tied to ONE loan, credit card, mortgage, etc., but your INCOME
