    Default Oil/spanner light

    Can anyone tell me if this is normal when I start the car the oil spanner light comes on give it a small rev and goes out same when I switch off its cdti sri150

    oil can normally means servicing time

    Sorry, was looking in a newer handbook. Forgot the older Vec-C's had an oilcan and spanner symbol for a service light.

    Does it also display some numbers underneath?

    To reset the service light, it's something like:-sit in the car, hold down the odometer reset button and turn the ignition key to posn 2.. do not let go of the reset button until the display changes.. about 10 to 30 seconds..

    the display will then change to the reset mileage..

    On some of the newer Vauxhalls this won't work. You have to press the trip reset button on the dash and also press the brake pedal as well before switching on the ignition - keep brake and trip pressed for 10 to 12 seconds - then the service interval light will be reset.

    Well done the service reset and light went out but now got the car spanner light in start up wtf is up with my car

    Providing the car/spanner light goes out as soon as the engine is running, then there is nothing to worry about.

    If it stays on until the engine is running, it's just indicating a stored fault code.

    Being a diesel, it could be an early warning sign of failing glow plug(s)
