    Default X18XER cam setting after renewing belt and vvt pulleys

    Anyone got any tech data on this ??
    the cam pulleys have no keyways to locate them and Autodata online has ****** all info unless your only changing the belt !!

    Anyone doing your vvt pulleys you need AST4995 tool

    Can I ask why you removed the cam pulleys? Do you not just slacken the tensioner to remove the belt?

    I replaced the knackered vvt pulleys , engine code was Z18 not X18 if that what threw you !!

    dont forget to take the rocker cover off and to use a flat piece of 4.5 mm metal to lock both the cams at the right hand side of the engine....

    I didn't know that Andy, I made my own and bought the 2 piece cam
    pulley locking tool.
    Easy enough to do, the Hynes manual describes how to do it.
